Slate, the content creation company changing how brands create their social media content, has announced its latest funding, now totaling $5.5 million in seed funding. This funding was led by NYC-based Charge Ventures. Several other investors participated including Interplay VC, Wise Ventures, TitletownTech, LAUNCH and more.
Slate is already a trusted provider to over 200 brands worldwide, many being some of them the most recognizable brands on social media today. Slate works with major sports leagues and teams in the US and abroad, as well as top brands in media, entertainment, beauty, fashion, retail, gaming, and more. Organizations like the NFL, VISA, Nickelodeon, Budweiser and more rely on Slate to empower their content creators to seamlessly edit, brand, and customize social content in seconds.
“Slate has been an incredibly helpful tool in elevating Nickelodeon’s social content,” said Tarreyn Van Slyke, a Sr. Social Producer at Nickelodeon. “It is invaluable for live events, allowing us to enhance our posts with high quality design elements and accurate captioning, all in real time. It has allowed us to create cohesive content for partners like Paramount Plus, as well as for our network talent. The elements that Slate allows us to add to our content are fantastic for brand cohesion, increased output, and content consistency.”
Brand consistency across digital and social increases revenue up to 33%, according to a recent report from Gartner. Achieving this consistency is getting more difficult for brands as the social media landscape continues to expand.
“Brands today need to have an always-on social media presence that requires them to generate a constant stream of high-quality, complex content that is optimized for numerous social media platforms, while also staying true to their brand identity. Traditional content creation tools often fall short when it comes to meeting these demands. That's where Slate comes in. By offering a seamless content creation experience that is customized for that brand, Slate empowers an organization’s design, marketing, and social media teams to collaborate effectively and produce content quickly, all while ensuring brand consistency,” says Michael Horton, co-founder and CEO of Slate.
The unique approach behind Slate, is a fully customizable, branded content creation experience for organizations. Slate allows companies to customize their content creation experience by uploading their own branded fonts, colors, overlays, filters, graphics, animations and Photoshop files. Creators can then use the in-browser creation studio or one of Slate's mobile apps to easily overlay brand elements and post directly to social media platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Twitter.
“Slate has been a game-changer in terms of workflow and the speed with which we can customize our social media posts across platforms,” says Hiren Joshi, Houston Rockets Director of Social Media.
Brands that use Slate can more effectively collaborate between design and social teams, and efficiently tell a better story across more channels without fear of posting off-brand content.
“Brands shouldn’t have to choose between being on-brand and on-time.” said Brett Martin, General Partner at Charge Ventures. “With Slate’s suite of enterprise-grade social media creation tools, they no longer have to. We believe Slate has the potential to disrupt the market and become a leader in the content creation space.“
