SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (March 29, 2018) – On Thursday, March 29th, the free iPhone app Dayflash, a new social community and vertical photo sharing platform that emphasizes authenticity, creative self-expression, and aesthetic full screen images launches to the public on the App Store. In just the few short weeks of its exclusive invitation-only pre-launch, thousands of creative Instagrammers, media figures and content creators joined Dayflash ahead of the public launch. The app currently has active users in over 30 different countries around the world. Influential Instagram users now utilizing the platform include @jerrykestel, @deftony83, @rachelhau85, @josh.perrett, @luismcara, @cinnaavox, @geken, @jm_photography23, @xxmelodi, @pea.squared, @shadow.boxer, @samanthascarlettemusic, @nicolasntohme, @canon.corey, @seb.nagel, @menacing_shotz and many more.
“Dayflash is different. It's a new social platform. For creators and friends. To inspire the world through aesthetic photos and creative expression. It's focused on putting creators first, sharing great content and connecting with others who share the same passion,” says Dayflash’s co-founder Anthony Morgan. “One of our top goals is to help creators reach new audiences so more new people can discover them faster and more effectively. In fact, we enable users to add their Instagram profile link to their Dayflash profile so lots of new users who discover them on Dayflash can also tap on the link to connect with them on Instagram. Dayflash does this because it wants to also bring lots of new visibility and exposure to people’s Instagram account.”
Over the past year, co-founders Anthony Morgan and Rupali Renjen collaborated with hundreds of creatives, photographers and users while building the Dayflash app, which enables unique photo and video sharing experiences. The design of Dayflash is based on input from lots of Instagram users and hundreds of creatives from colleges including Columbia University, NYU and Stanford.
“Our users love the feel of viewing other people’s full screen photo collections in sequence on the reverse-chronological feed,” says Dayflash’s co-founder Rupali Renjen. “Dayflash doesn’t over compress photos and sacrifice quality like other popular photo apps. Photos on Dayflash are always rendered in HD quality (1080p). And, by default, Dayflash displays photos in a unique, full-screen style, which makes most photos look immersive, captivating and life-like. The simplicity of navigating the feed makes it so easy to tap back and forth, to swipe up to read comments, or to swipe down to quickly like a photo.”
When a user shares a photo on Dayflash, it doesn’t post directly to the user’s profile grid. Dayflash lets users control their profile aesthetic by pinning select photos to their profile.
“A lot of people who use Dayflash aren’t necessarily creators or photographers,” explains Rupali. “Our users love how Dayflash displays their photos in fullscreen HD quality by default, but they mainly love how the app gives them this liberation to share all kinds of quality photos throughout their day without worrying about breaking their profile theme. Users are able to share photos outside of their profile theme which their friends and followers can keep up with, and they pin only select photos to their profile page that they want other people to see when they visit their profile. They also like discovering and connecting with new people on the app who entertain or inspire them through great quality fullscreen-style photos and 10-second videos that can evoke emotion and awe unlike ever before.”
“Dayflash is not meant to replace any of the other apps that people use today, but has instead been designed to complement them seamlessly. We want to make a way for users to enjoy sharing great content that can inspire the world while enabling them to engage new audiences more effectively and more quickly,” further explains Morgan. “With Dayflash we are building a community where anyone can come to be inspired, to enjoy viewing people’s collections of aesthetic full screen images, and to share everyday photos with a touch of their own creative style.”
The Dayflash app is now available to download for free on the iPhone App Store https://apple.co/2FOBEqW. An Android version will be available in the near future.
