Dive Brief:
- A recent report from mobile analytics provider Adomic ranks the top mobile advertisers for Q2 2014.
- Topping the list is Progressive Insurance, which outranked other brands in spending, but was also ranked highly because three out of the five "top mobile creatives" came from the insurance firm, as well.
- The spending for a lot of advertisers is still quite unbalanced — for example, American Express topped the list in PC spending, but only ranked No. 30 on mobile.
Dive Insight:
Mobile is gaining traction among advertisers, but it still seems as if some are holding back. The big problem for the format is that it hasn't yet proven itself as a valuable investment. Everyone knows that users are on mobile, but ads haven't proven that they are reaching people there.
