Dive Brief:
- Twitter has upgraded its analytics to offer advertisers a detailed look at their organic tweets.
- Users with access to the dashboard can now see clicks, number of impressions, expansions, retweets, and how many new followers were gained as a result of each tweet.
- The detailed analytics were previously only available on paid tweets in the Promoted Tweets program.
Dive Insight:
Twitter may be playing catch-up to Facebook by offering detailed stats on organic posts. Regardless of the motive, having more information on organic tweets is a positive for advertisers. It won't make much difference to marketers looking to run solely organic campaigns, but for any advertiser that has paid at some point, the data will be helpful. It also could be a good check to see if paying for tweets really offers an advantage.
