Marketers would love to crack the box that reveals how to get audience engagement on social media. According to a VentureBeat article, only 1% of social media posts have any impact at all. At the same time one business sector is seeing great social media results – media and entertainment. And the reason for these results very possibly just points to a strength of those sectors, highly relevant content to the target audience that also very high quality.
Research from SocialFlow (with a dataset of eight million organic social media posts) found that the average reach for media companies’ Facebook posts rose 67% and engagement 44% year-over-year from March 2014 to this year, and even more impressively total social reach by media companies increased 236% over that same timeframe.
Jim Anderson, CEO of SocialFlow, told VentureBeat, “It’s clear that media companies are producing more, and better, content than most marketers. Just look at your own News Feed and you will probably see that.”
