Dive Brief:
- Twitter sales exec J.B. Kropp, who oversaw the social media platform's relationship with Procter & Gamble, has accepted a position with national broadcast and publishing firm E.W. Scripps.
- Kropp is the third executive to depart Twitter in recent weeks, following the loss of Chief Operating Officer Ali Rowghani and Senior-VP Engineering Chris Fry.
- At Scripps, Kropp will serve as vice president of digital strategy and business development and will oversee the entrepreneurs-in-residence team.
Dive Insight:
Kropp told AdAge that his decision to leave Twitter was more about the opportunity Scripps was offering than about leaving a troubled situation. It is curious that two other major executives have jumped ship at the social platform, as well — especially since it has struggled a bit in the wake of its IPO. Either way, other firms are recognizing the talent present at Twitter.
