Dive Brief:
- Reckitt Benckiser — which markets consumer goods brands like Lysol, Mucinex and Air Wick — has named four new agencies to handle global media planning and buying following a global media review.
- In the U.S., Aegis will replace the Publicis Groupe's ZenithOptimedia, but Publicis will remain on the global roster.
- The four agencies now handling global media are incumbents Publicis Group and Havas as well as newcomers Aegis and IPG Mediabrands.
Dive Insight:
RB's global media review is among the first since the Publicis-Omnicom merger. With the merger, we can expect to see a lot more agency shuffling of this kind at both the U.S. and global level. While in this particular instance of agency changes, it's hard to tell how it directly involves the merger, any deal of that magnitude is likely to come with change. The review also comes just months after the April appointment of Unilever veteran Richard Davies as RB's director of global media.
