Dive Brief:
- Digital advertising vendor Fluent is reporting a slow down in mobile versus desktop activity.
- Fluent has experience a 2% drop in mobile interactions in Q1 from Q4 of last year — the first time mobile interactions have slowed in the past few years.
- The ad vendor believes mobile growth may have hit a plateau due to slowing tablet sales and smartphone saturation.
Dive Insight:
Mobile growth has exploded over the last few years largely due to the increasing adoption of smartphones and tablets. Now that smartphones are ubiquitous and tablets sales are slowing, it makes sense that ad interactions could be leveling out. That's not to say that mobile couldn't continue to grow, but the explosive growth over the past few years isn't probable.
