Carousel ads have been a hit for Instagram in the U.S.. Since the ad unit's launch earlier this year, several brands have run impressive campaigns. Old Navy, for example, used the carousel ads to showcase its "day in the life" photo campaign depicting the retailer's items being used in every day settings. Instagram highlights a few more companies on its blog that have put the feature to use.
Instagram isn't alone in the carousel-style ads though, with peer social networks Twitter and Pinterest have both introduced their own version of a rotating photo ad units. For Instagram's part, the photo-sharing social network touts the feature as a way for brands to tell deeper stories, providing advertisers more flexibility.
