Dive Brief:
- In a thankful blog post Tuesday, Facebook announced that it hit 2 million advertisers—and added 500,000 advertisers since July.
- In a different blog entry the same day, Facebook introduced an Ads Manager app. The new feature is a response to marketers doing more work from their phones instead of desktop computers.
- The app will help Facebook's 2 million advertisers manage campaigns on the go. This includes tracking campaigns, editing existing ads, editing budgets and schedules, and creating ads.
Dive Insight:
Facebook exceeded analyst expectations in Q4—a result it attributed to its mobile and video advertisers. Facebook has also consistently shown it's ahead of the pack in its features that make advertisers and marketers' lives easier, likely another reason for its advertising success. A launch of Marketing Partners and other ad upgrades will likely encourage advertisers to invest even more in the platform. As Facebook increasingly shifts its focus to mobile, it will be helpful for advertisers to be able to manage Facebook ad campaigns from their mobile devices.
