Landry succeeds John Dillon, who was promoted from EVP and CMO of Denny’s to president of the chain in fall 2022. She will assume her new role effective Jan. 30, Denny’s announced Monday and brings two decades of restaurant industry experience.
Most recently, Landry served as CMO at Chuck E. Cheese parent company CEC Entertainment. She also held marketing leadership positions at Pizza Hut, T.G.I. Fridays and Main Event Entertainment.
“She’ll provide leverage for great experience in the industry but also provide a deeper focus to consumer insights and help to elevate our brand of relevance,” Denny’s CEO Kelli Valade said on Tuesday at the ICR Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Landry will be tasked with growing Denny’s sales and “delivering meaningful guest experiences that amplify Denny’s cultural relevance and position as America's Diner,” according to a company release.
“Sherri has the perfect blend of leadership experience and business savvy that we need to propel us through the next chapter of Denny's brand evolution while honoring our brand purpose, feeding people’s bodies, minds and souls,” Dillon said in a statement shared in the press release.
