Netbiscuits enables RSS feeds for mobile Web
Netbiscuits Inc., a company providing a software platform for the creation, operation and monetization of mobile Web sites, launched a platform for the adaptation of RSS and ATOM feeds for mobile Web sites.
This new technology enables easy and cost-effective integration of dynamic content into mobile websites. The new service allows for the integration of content item lists and details into mobile Web pages.
"The mobile Internet is empty of mobile Web sites, and we want help to increase the number of mobile Web sites fast, creating ad inventory and services to conduct commerce on," said Michael Neidhoefer, CEO of Netbiscuits, Reston, VA.
"The strategy behind the launch of the solution for the adaptation of RSS and ATOM feeds for mobile Web sites is to lower the barrier of content mobilization and to provide plug-and-play tools for mobile content creation," he said.
Following RSS and ATOM standards, item lists can be displayed in various ways, highlighting author, title, publication date, a summary of the article and an image.
Item details will display the complete content of the article optimized for mobile devices.
Advertisers can integrate ad servers such as DoubeClick or ad networks such as Google or AdMob into any site created by Netbiscuits via an Ad Biscuit.
Netbiscuits serves the mobile Internet programs for brands like Yahoo, MTV and eBay, as well as ad agencies such as Razorfish, Isobar and Nokia Interactive.
Globally Netbiscuits delivers more than 1 billion mobile page impressions each month.
Netbiscuits is available as a Web-based software service.
The platform exploits the capabilities of high-end mobile devices like the iPhone, Nokia Series 60 and BlackBerry, among others. At the same time, Netbiscuits adapts mobile Web sites to all basic and mid-range mobile phones.
"We help premium brands and agencies create compelling mobile Web sites optimized for all the different kinds of mobile devices in the market fast, easy and cost efficiently," Mr. Neidhoefer said. "The Netbiscuits platform provides all tools, interfaces and mobile enabling technologies that are needed to develop, publish and monetize professional mobile Web services.
"Thereby Netbiscuits allows content and media publishers, marketing and advertising agencies, application developers and service providers to achieve a faster path to profit from their mobile Internet programs," he said. "Netbiscuits allows the instant integration and roll-out of mobile marketing, advertising, community and commerce features."
