Kardashians' Easter egg Snapchat geofilters build on season 12 excitement

E! Network is rewarding super fans of reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians with a series of Snapchat geofilters featured exclusively at locations related to the show, boosting excitement for the new season.

Fans of the show located in various areas related to the series and its spin-offs, such as New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Miami, will be able to share videos and photos incorporating Keeping Up with the Kardashians filters. The idea is to promote the new season in a medium that has been embraced by the show?s demographic through user-generated content.

"The Kardashians are a true pop culture phenomenon, and our Keeping Up with the Kardashians Snapchat launch campaign gives fans a chance to celebrate their love for the show," said Jen Neal, executive vice president of marketing, at E! "By using the geo-targeted Snapchat filters, fans are following in the footsteps of their favorite family."

Keeping up with mobile marketing
Keeping Up with the Kardashians' new season premieres next Sunday and the E! Network is ramping up the new season by tapping into a mobile destination where the majority of fans are spending their time.

The filters will be available only at specific locations that are related to the show. For instance, the cast owns a series of boutiques named Dash, where many locations will feature the geofilter.

The filters all include text reading ?Kardashians hotspot? or ?Kardashians were here? along with an image of the location of the geotag. For instance, at the Commons at Calabasas, a filter that reads ?Kardashian hotspot? in orange and white is featured with an image of the series? iconic house in the lower corner, along with the sign of the city of Calabasas.

"Our geo-filters are a unique way for fans of the show to engage with their favorite TV family."
