Emojis turn risqué with new keyboard from Adam & Eve

Online adult toy retailer Adam & Eve is appealing to consumers by offering a fun emoji keyboard it has deemed ?naughty? for sharing images of products with others on mobile messaging applications.

While the traditional Unicode emoji keyboard on iOS is significantly tame, Adam & Eve is making risqué emojis for adults to share with friends. The lighthearted keyboard shows off the retailer?s products and gives users an easier way to talk about sex.

"We wanted to create something fun and slightly risqué for adamandeve.com customers and adult couples in general," said Katy Zvolerin, director of public relations at Adam & Eve. "Sexting is so popular, and our emojis can add a bit of naughty fun when lovers are apart, flirting or preparing for a date night."

Mobile messaging gets risqué

The retailer is aiming to be consumers? go-to brand in relation to sex and adult toys. The Naughty Emoji keyboard app helps facilitate that for Adam & Eve by providing emojis not just of products, but also of common phrases, poses and virtual coupons for couples to redeem with each other.

Other images include a lipstick mark and the well-known ?speak no evil? monkey, which features the animal covering his mouth with his hands.

Adam & Eve is interjecting its brand where there is already a relevant conversation happening. Many users are already talking about things on messaging apps that fit well with the retailer?s emojis, making it a smart idea for Adam & Eve to launch.

Emojis are becoming more and more popular. If Adam & Eve sees significant adoption rates, the brand will introduce more images over time.

Emojis and brands
L?Oreal similarly jumped into the social conversation among beauty fans by giving them an emoji keyboard that seamlessly incorporates the marketer's brands into messages and driving awareness of the new icons with a contest (see more).

Huffington Post also took a strong stance on appealing to mobile-first consumers by upgrading its application to include virtual reality content and launching a comical sticker pack in relation to the presidential election (see more).

"While there are other sexy emojis available, the Adam & Eve emojis provide images of some of our best selling adult products as well as love coupons and position templates," Ms. Zvolerin said. "Our main goal was to get adults to have fun with sex and sexting.

"Hopefully, our emojis will be so successful we will be able to add more in the future," she said.
