Martha Stewart Weddings fully mobilizes print ads in latest issue

The Winter 2009 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings is enabling marketers to provide interactive advertisements in the publication.

Bloomingdale's and Macy's are examples of some of the advertisers in the issue. The Winter 2009 issue of the wedding magazine was fully mobilized using SnapTell's Snap.Send.Get. technology which lets readers take a picture of an ad to receive additional information.

"Virtually every ad in the issue was activated with a tip, including some of the top bridal fashion, jewelry, travel and retail brands in the country," said Amy Wilkins, senior vice president and publisher of Martha Stewart Weddings, New York.

Alvina Valenta, Bari Jay, Bloomingdale's, Christopher Designs, Disney, Hallmark, Hilton, Kirk Kara, Macy's, Mauboussin, Monique Lhuillier, Riedel, Royal Crown Derby and Wyndham were among the advertisers who optimized with ringtones, wallpapers, retail-store locators or custom messages.

The issue allows readers to snap pictures of featured advertisements with a mobile phone camera, send the image to or the short code 707070 for AT&T and Verizon phones and instantly get back content from that advertiser.

For example, the Macy's ad illustrated that Martha Stewart china is available through the retailer.

Users who want more can snap a picture of the ad and send it to get a text back with a link to download a "Here Comes the Bride" ringtone, plus a link to receive a special discount.

The Bloomingdale's ad directs participants to create a Bloomingdale's registry and then enjoy a pair of complimentary crystal flutes in-store.

The Hilton advertisement asks consumers to snap a picture of the ad and send it to SnapTell to receive wedding planning tips from the Hilton family.

The Rina Limor ads direct readers to view bridal ring designs at www.RinaLimor.com then to call 800-999-0583 for a special discount.

Disney's mobilized ad offers a Cinderella's Coach wallpaper and Christopher Designs offers a diamond ring wallpaper.

SnapTell specializes in image recognition-based mobile marketing services.

The Winter 2009 issue of Martha Stewart Wedding magazine features more than 200 advertisers giving tips from the Martha Stewart Weddings archives, special offers, store locators, ringtones and wallpapers.

SnapTell's "Snap.Send.Get" service helps advertisers reach a broad audience by delivering customized content.

That content can include coupons, videos or photos, Web site links or product information directly from the pages of the magazine.
