Mindy Weiss taps mobile app to inspire brides-to-be
Celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss has debuted an iPhone application that lets brides-to-be access ideas, trends and inspirations for their upcoming nuptials.
The Plan Your Wedding With Mindy Weiss application is a partnership between ICN and Ms. Weiss. The application is available for the iPhone and iPod touch for $9.99.
?Planning a wedding is clearly a massive event in anyone?s life,? said Geoff Baker, president of ICN, London. ?To be able to call upon the support of the world?s leading wedding planner for help, guidance and fun through that process seemed like something that would appeal to pretty much all brides-to-be.
?There are so many facets to it, so the plan is to develop the app over time with enhancements and software updates, but initially we have focused on three main factors,? he said. ?The first is utility ? enabling a bride to plan: guests, vendors, budgets, honeymoon details, then inspiration ? we have partnerships with more than 20 of the world?s leading dress designers.
?Finally, there?s guidance ? lots of video from Mindy giving vital tips from fashion to practical advice on planning the big day.?
Mindy Weiss is the owner and principle planner/designer of Mindy Weiss Party Consultants. She has planned weddings for Katy Perry, Nicole Richie, Eva Longoria and Gwen Stefani.
ICN is a digital media services publisher that offers Web services, and mobile applications to create value for consumer and entertainment brands.

The application features a dream board where users can save their favorite images, as well as include their own shots and show them to potential vendors during meetings.
Additionally, the application features thank you notes that let users take pictures of their gifts from their showers and wedding, and then tag them to their guests.
Users have instant access to Ms. Weiss via exclusive video advice and access to her daily trend updates.
?Planning a wedding is in itself a mobile experience, you need your planning elements and inspiration with you at all times,? Mr. Baker said. ?Carrying binders and organizational tools is impractical, we wanted Mindy's experience, tips and trends to be at peoples' fingertips.
?Brides are often searching for Mindy online, so we wanted to streamline the process making her searchable in the app store,? he said. ?At this time we are looking for sponsors or partners ? we expect to announce our first partner for Mindy?s app in the next few days, and will go from there.
?We are looking to develop a Web based interface and offering for the App which we believe will be very appealing to partners too.?
The application lets users create their guest list, send out engagement announcements and track RSVPs and registry items.
?We are looking to roll out across multiple mobile platforms over the coming months,? Mr. Baker said. ?We already have one of our apps being developed for the Windows mobile platform at the moment, and we will review these options with Mindy very shortly.?
