Six Flags maximizes fun for guests with mobile Fun Finder offering
Theme park giant Six Flags is using mobile to provide an interactive tour of its locations to help guests maximize their fun.
The Six Flags Fun Finder iPhone application provides guests with an interactive tour and a thrill guide. Interactive park maps show guests their exact location in relation to rides, games, entertainment venues, food and retail outlets, ATMs, bathrooms and characters via the iPhone's GPS capability.
?Our strategy behind the app is to expand our brand presence in digital platforms and to integrate our offline and online experiences in a way that is relevant to our core audiences,? said Jackie Gagne, director of direct and digital marketing at Six Flags, New York.
?The offline experience of exploring the park is enhanced through the ease of sharing it with friends online,? she said. ?Facebook Connect functionality allows guests to update their friends about their park experience.?
Six Flags is a publicly-traded corporation and is the world's largest regional theme park company with 19 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The new application?s Friend Finder feature connects guests to Facebook Friends who are also using the application, allowing users to chat, see their actual in-park position and post updates to their Facebook pages.
The application includes a complete directory of park events throughout the entire season.
Users can learn more about each event and create a reminder so they do not miss out on the fun.
?Mobile was ideal because of our target and this app specifically allows us to expand the guest experience,? Ms. Gagne said. ?Fun Finder provides guests with seamless access to everything in the park, making it easier to navigate the park and better connect with friends to decide which thrill ride to take on next or where to meet for lunch.?
