CallWave rolls out conference call management app
CallWave, a global application provider, has recently announced a new application that allows individuals to have a meeting via their mobile phones.
Fuze Meeting is an iPhone app developed to create a meeting place for people who are on the go, integrating instant messaging, HD video sharing, desktop sharing and all the features of conference call management. The application is available for the iPhone and iPod touch in the Apple App store.
"The iPhone is the first of what will be multiple platform developments," said Patrick Moran, vice president of marketing at CallWave, San Francisco. "Because the application has the ability to manage and deal with HD video and images the Apple market is perfect for this application.
"By all means, we will be rolling Fuze Meeting out on other platforms in coming months, but for now the iPhone audience just right for this type of visual interaction," he said.
The Fuze Meeting application is the sister service to its Web meeting counterpart by CallWave giving online and mobile meeting services to users anytime.
The conference call management system allows users to start meetings and invite participants.
The fetch feature lets users pull participants into the session and within the app, users can mute and un-mute lines all direct from the application on the iPhone.
The application gives users the option to view other participants' desktops, files and presentations while on the go in real-time as long as the user is synced with the presenter.
Fuze Meeting can also consolidate many different Instant Messaging platforms such as Yahoo, AOL, MSN, Jabber and Google Talk so that users can simultaneously be logged on to multiple platforms.
"Users can set up a Fuze Meeting account for free and connect with up to three people without paying, either via phone or the Web," Mr. Moran said.
"When we did our research about how people use Web and mobile meeting technologies, we found that there are typically no more than 3 people on a call," he said. "Therefore, our model is to encourage people to move up to our paid subscription version."
Arnold Worldwide uses Fuze Meeting to sell more advertising by presenting to more customers daily. The company claims that the application lets them present to clients without the cost and time-suck of travel.
Zonare, a designer, developer and manufacturer of compact ultrasound products uses the application to share high resolution files synchronously and claim that since the implementation of Fuze Meeting, the company always starts meetings on time.
Integrity Block is a manufacturer of sustainable building materials and uses the application to share design plans globally.
"Both BlackBerry and Symbian are very important to us on our roadmap as they are increasingly important worldwide," Mr. Moran said. "We are depending on viral spread and word of mouth to promote the application.
"We are very active on social media networks such as Twitter, and we have traditional advertising in place via Google," he said. "We don't yet have a mobile marketing component to our mix, but we probably talk about it every single day. We'll probably engage in that very soon."
