Credo Mobile ad campaign calls for social change

Telecommunications company Working Assets changed its wireless and long distance services division to Credo Mobile as part of a rebranding effort that recognizes progressive social change enabled by the mobile channel.

The former Working Assets Wireless division's new campaign targets liberal audiences ages 30 to 55 whose progressive values drive their brand preference. Credo Mobile lets customers combine activism with mobile phone use through politically- and environmentally-focused text messages and action alerts.

Credo Mobile's ad campaign introduces consumers to the idea of a mobile phone service that takes care of their everyday calls while simultaneously making a difference for important social causes.

As part of its campaign, the company has launched www.whatsyourcredo.com, a Web site focused on the 2008 presidential election. The site lets users send text messages and upload video to voice their hopes for the next U.S. president.

Credo Mobile offers services comparable to major wireless carriers, including nationwide digital coverage. The company plans to roll out more mobile phone choices and solar-powered mobile phone accessories over the next six months.

The company automatically donates a portion of its customers' charges to progressive nonprofit groups. It also plants one tree for every new subscriber.
