Bell mobility adds new interface to Windows Mobile devices
Bell Mobility will use Handmark's newly-created user interface on select Windows Mobile devices, leading with the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Diamond Pro.
Pocket Express delivers real-time news, sports, weather, and movie listing content bubbles within the new user interface, allowing customers to quickly and easily access up-to-the-minute information. Within each of the content bubbles, customers have the ability to customize favorite sports teams, stock tickers, news, weather locations and local movie theaters.
"Handmark builds the finest mobile properties and works to attract the appropriate audience," said Evan Conway, executive vice president of marketing at Handmark, Kansas City.
"Handmark partners with a variety of mobile operators and device manufactures to help enhance the customer experience through simplified user interfaces making it easier to search and find information or entertainment they may be seeking," he said.
Handmark specializes in the development and distribution of mobile media, for a wide range of mobile devices.
Overall, the new Bell interface offers more than 60 ways to personalize the main screen using different combinations of 25 icons - referred to as bubbles - including headline sports, news, video, 70-plus radio channels, weather, horoscopes and email, providing quick access to content and services from their home screen.
The Pocket Express specific content within the Bell user interface is ad-supported. But customers will only see an ad if they click into a specific news article, for example.
The partnership and service was successfully designed to bring attention to the additional features that are available on its phones and makes finding information and entertainment content much faster and easier.
It will not be seen within the main Bell interface. These ads are house ads for different games and applications that Handmark offers in its stores.
Rather than having to work with a variety of content partners, Bell Mobility benefits from having Handmark as a content and development partner.
Pocket Express covers the complete suite of services desired for its new user interface on the new HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Touch Diamond Pro devices. It was said to be easy to integrate into the product.
"The Pocket Express specific content within the new user interface from Bell, including news, weather, sports and movie bubbles delivers up to the minute information from the most trusted sources so the information is always the most accurate," Mr. Conway said.
"The content is also very easy to customize to the specific needs of each individual customer," he said.
