Verizon Wireless rocks out with Linkin Park
Verizon Wireless, Linkin Park and Chris Cornell have partnered to present the fifth annual Projekt Revolution Tour.
The summer's premier rock tour will feature such giants as Linkin Park, Chris Cornell, The Bravery, Atreyu and Hawthorne Heights. Verizon Wireless will offer consumers opportunities to meet and interact with the band from the kick-off on Aug. 7 in Phoenix, AZ to the finale in Houston, TX on the 24.
In addition, fans will be able to visit the V CAST Song ID Tent and a Chris Cornell autograph signing. Fans will also have access to V CAST Song ID stations which will demonstrate how to use the service.
V CAST is a service which allows Verizon consumers to identify songs audibly, discover the title, artist and album information and then gives them the option of buying it as a ringtone or ringback tone.
The first 200 fans to identify Chris Cornell's new song "Long Gone", from his new album "Scream", in the V CAST Song ID demonstration will be given wristbands that allow them to access an exclusive autograph signing with Chris Cornell the day of the show.
Fans can also visit the Chris Cornell Listening Stations, where they may listen to yet-to-be released tracks from Cornell's upcoming album "Scream" via Monster Cable's Beats By Dr. Dre headphones.
Chris Cornell, originally from Soundgarden and then Audioslave, is now known as the rock icon who thrives on contradictions and the chief architect of grunge.
Linkin Park has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and has earned two Grammy Awards, the first for Best Hard Rock Performance in 2002 with their hit single "Crawling" and the second for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Jay-Z in 2006 for the innovative "Numb/Encore."
Fans can download music from Linkin Park and the exclusive pre-released Chris Cornell track "Long Gone" as full-song downloads, ringtones and ringback as well, over-the-air and on their PCs through V CAST Music with Rhapsody.
The wireless carrier will also give fans the ability to listen to three yet to be released new tracks ("Long Gone," "Far Away" and "Ground Zero") at each stop of the Projekt Revolution tour.
